2020 U.S. Census Local Update of Census Addresses Operation (LUCA) is the only opportunity offered to local governments to review and comment on the U.S. Census Bureau’s residential address list for their municipality before the 2020 Census begins on April 1, 2020.
The Census Bureau relies on a complete and accurate address list to reach every living quarters and associated population for inclusion in the census.
It’s highly recommended that local governments participate in LUCA. This July, mayors/presidents will be sent an LUCA invitation letter and registration forms. The deadline to register for LUCA is this December.
