The Council of Mayors was created and authorized by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning Policy Committee for the purpose of providing input into the region’s transportation policy decisions, facilitating communication between local governments and the regional transportation agencies, and establishing the priorities for the local STP program and to implement programmed projects.

On March 15, 2024, the Council voted to open the public comment period for the draft 2025-2029 STP-L Program. You can view the draft program at the link below. Please forward any questions or comments to apduffin@mchenrycountyil.gov. The public comment period will close on Thursday, April 18.
