IDOT Hosting Multi-Modal Program Webinars

Illinois Transportation Acting Secretary Erica Borggren announced today that the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host two webinars to offer the public additional opportunities to provide input for the upcoming Multi-Modal Transportation Improvement Program for fiscal years 2016-2021.

The webinars will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28, and Wednesday, Oct. 29. The webinars will be hosted by IDOT engineers and will give residents and businesses in the area a chance to better understand and weigh in on project priorities over the next six years.

Multi-Modal Program Webinar – Statewide

The webinars are in addition to the 17 informational and feedback sessions hosted in person by IDOT earlier this year in communities throughout the state.

The Multi-Modal Program, IDOT’s planning and programming guide, is based on current estimates of local, federal and state funding, including funding from Gov. Pat Quinn’s Illinois Jobs Now! capital program enacted in 2009. The current Multi-Modal Program for FY 2015-2020 totals about $8.6 billion for road and bridge systems alone, focusing on maintenance and improvement of the roadway system.

A computer with internet access is required to access the webinar. The public meeting will include a short presentation and an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide comments for the upcoming 2016-2021 improvement program.

Comments or questions will be accepted verbally during the webinar or can be submitted by following this link and submitting the comments to DOT.OPPMYPOutreach@illinois.gov.
