Beginning on July 1, 2017, all new construction, rehabilitations, and other work affecting the load capacity of a bridge structure will require a load rating analysis. Local public agencies will be required to submit plans and load rating results to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
To facilitate the load rating analysis of bridge structures, IDOT obtained the Agency Sponsored Consultant Licensing option from AASHTOWare for AASHTOWare Bridge Rating™. This software is free of charge for local agencies to use for load rating Illinois bridges.
