I-90 Fox River Bridge Traffic Shift

Next week the Illinois Tollway will begin shifting all the I-90 Fox River Bridge traffic in Elgin onto the eastbound side of the bridge to allow removal and rebuild of the westbound bridge. Drivers will be alerted of the new traffic pattern with electronic message signs, which is scheduled through late fall of 2015.

The new westbound bridge structure construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The construction will allow for three lanes of traffic in each direction to be shifted onto the new westbound bridge in 2016, which will allow the remaining portion of the eastbound bridge to be reconstructed.
